Wednesdays in Lent -  Relocation Services

Some of us have moved many times in our lives and some of us not so much, but we are all assured of one last move: the move into the nearer presence of God and eternity. We don’t like to think about that move, but there are preparations that can help that move as well.

February 25     Death and The Prayer Book

Each funeral is more than just a time to remember a loved one and grief. It is also a worship service. We will look at the theology embedded in the burial rite and strengthen our identity in being a people of the resurrection.

March 4                       A Strong Will to Live

The end of life means settling accounts of all kinds, spiritual and financial. Michael Hagon, the Chief Financial Officer for the Episcopal Diocese of Milwaukee Trustees for funds and endowment, will talk about what happens to your money when you die and what you can do to make lasting gifts to those who come after you.

March 11                         The Great Physician

Very few things are as confusing and frustrating as medical care. There seems like so much we do not know, and when it comes to end-of-life medical questions the anxiety can be amplified. The Rev. Charles Orme-Rogers, an Episcopalian, current Clinical Pastoral Education supervisor at Meriter Hospital will be with us to untangle one of the issues around end of life care. He will also emphasize that the planning that you do ahead of that moment in time is a true gift to your family and loved ones.

March 25                                The Burial Rite

At the final session in this series we will do the celebratory task of planning our own funerals. We will be picking scriptures and songs that will be used to help those who mourn for us worship.
